Research Statement

My research interest is in improving access to care for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from traditionally underserved backgrounds by increasing caregiver engagement in autism-related services. I am also interested in parent-mediated early intervention for children with ASD, particularly as a service model for families in rural and urban communities.

My research broadly examines which strategies are most efficacious in improving caregiver engagement in autism-related services for traditionally underserved families, drawing from my diverse yet interrelated experiences in urban elementary classrooms and academic research positions. I am interested in research that leverages community-academic partnerships to design and evaluate caregiver engagement interventions in order to improve their organizational fit and sustainability, especially for families of low socioeconomic status in rural and urban communities.
